Your road to new adventure starts with this abseiling instructional day from the Australian School of Mountaineering in Katoomba. Just one and a half hours from Sydney begins with a safety briefing and training session using practice abseils at our specially selected abseiling area. While we place much emphasis on fun and adventure they will also teach you the important skills you’ll need to go abseiling in safety anywhere!
After a filling mountain lunch the group will head off to tackle some more challenging descents. The big abseils are offered on a "challenge by choice" basis and you are free to go as high as you wish! From towering vertical walls to sheer cut overhangs and forward rundowns, the challenge is your choice! At the end of the day you will receive the ASM Basic Abseiling Certificate.

It's great fitness and fun way to see lots of interesting wildlife along the way. It’s so much like having a bird’s eye view of what’s down below. Not only that, but stand up Paddle Board training is a simple and fun way to promote balance, strength and general fitness.

Want to improve your tennis game but can't commit to weekly lessons at this stage? club O2's new monthly Group Tennis Lessons are a great way to share professional coaching lessons with other club O2 members.
Format: 2 hours of tennis and coaching. After a group warm up, 8 players will head to courts for a social hit while the coach works with the other 4-6 players. Each person will be involved in a minimum of 30 mins of group lessons plus the instructed warm-up session. The social hit will allow you to practice the skills you have just learnt! Everyone will rotate so you get a chance to play with different people.
Max numbers: 14 people
Cost includes: 2 hours of tennis including a min of 30 mins group coaching plus instructed warm-up.
Come join other club O2 members for a fantastic SoccerFit session! The SoccerFit program combines popular fitness activities with the drills and techniques of soccer for a fantastic fitness workout. Better still - everyone can participate as no previous soccer experience is required!
The class starts off with stretching and warm up drills, then on to ball skills! We finish off with a social game so you can practice your new-found moves (and score some goals!). It's so enjoyable, and you are getting a great 60 mins of cardio activity!

Cronulla Surfing Academy offers the most personal and fun lessons around! Join us for a 2 hour surf lesson! Lesson includes:

They supply all the equipment you need - Quality soft boards, comfortable wetsuits, & rash vests. Just bring a towel and sunscreen - and we'll provide the rest!
Lifestart Kayak for Kids is an inspirational paddling challenge on Sydney Harbour. It raises funds for very special kids aged from birth to school age who have an intellectual disability or developmental delay.
Lifestart Kayak for Kids is a 17.5km course running from Blues Point to Clontarf in four stages of approximately 4.5km. club O2 is putting together a team of 12 people for this fantastic event!
We will form relay teams of 3 with each team completing approx 4.5km! (as quickly as we can!!)
The three seater kayak, paddles and life vests are provided - all we need is your enthusiasm and paddle-power!

club O2 partner Pro Dive offers members the opportunity to try scuba diving in their heated pool in Manly.
The event starts with a short theory module covering the safety aspects of diving (what you can and cannot do and why). You are then provided with all your gear, before heading into the water where you are taught the basic skills which you will practice before continuing the dive.
ProDive also puts on a BBQ afterwards!

How fun was our golfing event in February?! Back by popular demand and everyone's love of a BBQ, we are hosting another day on Sylvania Par 3 Golf Course! A picturesque, boutique course situated on 15 acres of flat land in the Sutherland Shire. Surrounded by shady eucalyptus trees, this course is perfect for beginners who want their first go or advanced players who want to practice their swing.
You may borrow some clubs or bring your own.
We're stepping up the BBQ and bringing a mixed grill of chicken, sausage, and veggies, plus loads of homemade goodies, for a full afternoon of golfing and BBQing. BYOB.

The third annual WildEndurance event will be held over the weekend of 1-2 May 2010. WildEndurance is a 100km 48 hour team trek challenge in the beautiful World Heritage wilderness of the Blue Mountains. Participating teams travel together on foot through mountain wilderness, choosing either to complete the entire 100km course together, or dividing into two relay groups each travelling 50km. There is strict time limit of 48 hours.
WildEndurance is staged in the stunning Blue Mountains World Heritage area, just 2 hours’ drive from Sydney. The route passes through some of Australia's most iconic scenery, including the world famous Three Sisters and the stunning Jamison Valley. The 2010 event will use the same awesome route introduced in 2009, starting in the Megalong Valley and finishing in the historic town of Katoomba, with regular checkpoints along the way where teams can meet up with their personal support teams.
What are we walking for? This year the fundraising will help support the Wilderness Society's campaigns, including:
- the enduring protection of Cape York Peninsula, one of the last wild places on earth, through nomination for World Heritage listing
- the protection of the world's greatest River Red Gum forests through the establishment of new National Parks along the Murray River.
- the protection of the Williams River from the ecological damage that will be caused by the Tillegra Dam.
- the long term protection of NSW Travelling Stock Routes and Reserves that provide vital habitats and migration routes in some of the most heavily cleared areas of the State.

Join us for The Art Trail walk through Bundeena and Maianbar. We will follow the Art Trail Map which will guide us through the workshops of over 14 nationally and locally known artists. We can talk with the artists, take in the studio atmosphere, and view paintings, drawings, sculptures, ceramics and mixed media pieces all while getting some gentle exercise!

We start at Dunningham Park in North Cronulla where we select a different circuit each week. Sessions will range from endurance runs to beach sprints and track, hill, and speed workouts.
We will train together in preparation for fun runs like Sutherland to Surf and The Bridge Run!

We begin on the Drummoyne side of the famous Bay Run. There will be a couple of different circuits to choose from, depending on your fitness levels, so feel free to come and give it a try.
Each week we will vary the style of circuit, length and often location with optional extras for those willing to push themselves that little bit further. Sessions will run for approx 45 minutes.
Location: We meet out the front of 'The Rowers' - Drummoyne Rowing Club, ready to start at 6.30pm.

Want to take your mountain biking to the next level? Join us for a MTB clinic in the beautiful Southern Highlands.
This clinic, led by the experts at AddVenture Training, will teach you a selection of skills and riding techniques including: Safety and setup, Braking, Balance, Gearing, Ascending and Descending, Cornering, Clearing obstacles and drops and Basic repairs and maintenance
Set in the Southern Highlands (Wingello State Forest) you will have an opportunity to put your new found skills into practise on some of the area’s best single tracks and fire trails during an exciting day out including morning tea and lunch. Whether a novice (with some off-road experience) or intermediate rider the day is designed to ensure you have the knowledge, skills and confidence to continue enjoying and improving your ability beyond the clinic. Bike hire is available at an additional cost.

Limited to just 24 club O2 members (4 per boat), we join the school's friendly sailing Instructors for a two hour sailing lesson plus a couple of races around the island!
Stick around for a drink or two in the Deck Bar of the prestigious Cruising Yacht Club of Australia.
This is a great hands-on sailing experience that will suit both complete beginners and those with some sailing experience. To see what you are in for view our photos from this event held in February!

Let’s kick off our Winter Walking series with a special guest appearance! Ian Wells, an award winning, expert guide from Royal Coast Walks joins us on this special occasion.
Ian has volunteered to show us some special local spots including the hidden cliff caves once inhabited by hermits in the early 1900’s. Whales shall be starting to migrate which may give us an opportunity to spot them.
We’ll walk from the small town of Bundeena to Jibbon Head, providing views of Cronulla and north up the coast. From Jibbon Head we turn south along the coast to see Wave Rock, Prawn Rock and some amazing sandstone rock pools. We'll take our time resting for lunch and taking photos. The fantastic views, private beaches, and drastic cliffs make this walk a classic.
Note: This is classed as a easy walk.
Distance: 6km Time: 3 hours
This is a fantastic Fun Run! 8km starting from Milson Pt, heading through Waverton to Ball Head Reserve and back with a spectactular finish down the boardwalk to Luna Park!
12 club O2-ers took on the challenge last year, this year we are looking to double that!
Why run with us? It's a great opportunity to see what progress you have made in our running clubs or through your own training plus as a team we join together to raise money for the MS Society. ClimbFit is Sydney's largest indoor climbing and gymnasium facility! Located in St Leonards, just 10 minutes from the city over the Harbour Bridge by car or a 5 minute walk from St Leonards train station.With over 200 set climbing routes, there are challenges for all standards of experience and expertise!
Climbing is a sport suitable for all fitness levels - from athlete to couch potato. It is an awesome way to get fit for any age, from 4 year olds to 80 year olds. Indoor climbing is not just physical, but also a mental challenge. All you need is a sense of adventure!

Bring your cameras as Ian Wells of Royal Coast Walks guides us in a Whale Watching Tour! A delightful walk from Bundeena to Marley Headland via the Aboriginal carvings with several hours whale watching before returning.
We will sit on the cliff tops for whale watching for at least several hours in this time! Although we can’t guarantee you will see a while, it would be a rare day we don’t.
We'll also see ancient Aboriginal carvings, the bizarre sandstone formations of Wave Rock, Prawn Rock, The Devil’s Dice and the striking White Cliffs of Marley pictured here!

It is graded as an easy difficulty hike as it is relatively flat for the duration.
It's "Christmas in July" club O2 style! Come and join us as we tackle either the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km run or 6.5km meander through the vineries!
Arriving in the Hunter Valley Friday night, we will have Saturday to relax and visit some wineries before our Saturday night, "Christmas in July - pre-race meal".
The classic Sutherland to Surf is a great way to gear up for the longer races throughout the season! You can race or walk the 11-km from Sutherland Entertainment Centre to Wanda Beach.
A club O2 tent will be waiting for you at the finish line, serving up free sausage sizzles and fruit for all club O2 members who finish. You also get a free club O2 T-shirt for running in this event!
City2Surf was voted Sydney's Favourite Sporting Event in 2009 and also became the biggest road run in the world with a sold-out field of 75,000 people entering in 09!
2010 will be the 40th anniversary of this classic Sydney event so come along and join the club O2 team as we tackle "Heartbreak Hill"! Join in our running clubs leading up to the event!
With the 2009 club O2 ski trip such a success - (see the photos on facebook!), we are now taking interest for our 2010 Ski Trip!
This year, we will head down slightly earlier in the season and would like members feedback on whether we should extend the trip to a 3 day holiday. (Coming back Monday night)

The Empress Canyon is a “little gem” with a gentle start and a rather exciting finish! We’ll begin the day with some adventure abseiling fun and excitement and then after a great outdoor lunch we’ll travel to the canyon entrance and begin the tour. The journey takes us deep inside the sandstone cliff and will find us wading, scrambling and jumping until we discover daylight again. From here we’ll need our abseiling skills for a spectacular 30mtr waterfall abseil to finish this awesome canyon adventure!

Claustral Canyon has a reputation for being one of the most eagerly sought after canyoning adventures of all. The abseiling is spectacular, the water jumps are exciting, and the famous tunnel swim is "interesting". What more can we say! Claustral needs an early start, it's a reasonably long day, but it's one you'll never forget! For this trip you don’t need to have any previous canyoning experience, but you’ll need to know how to abseil and be a reasonable swimmer.
Note: Max number of 10 for this trip so register your interest early! Own transport or car-pooling required.
Join us for a Double Boat Dive aboard Sydney's Premier Dive Boat PRO DIVE's award winning Sealife V.
This boat caters for up to 19 divers and onboard facilities include twin hot showers, galley, toilet, a massive diving deck, dual ladders, comfortable undercover seating and twin 430hp diesel engines to get you effortlessly to and from the dive sites.
This Saturday afternoon trip will include two dives. The boat leaves from 12.30pm Rose Bay Ferry Wharf, or 1.00pm from Manly Yacht Club. The boat returns to Manly at 5.15pm and Rose Bay at 5.30pm
Dive Site: The Gap (Min certifcation Open Water Diver)
The reef here runs to a maximum depth of 23m. The reef has a lot of small and large boulders as well as a sheer wall. The boulders create a lot of swim-throughs and small caves. Some of the large boulders, covered in sponges, ascidians, sea squirts and small gorgonias. Fish vary from black drummer, luderick, to blackfish and grouper, one-spot pullers, leatherjackets, and bream. Huge schools of yellowtail kingfish are not uncommon!
Cost:
$169 for club O2 members to include all gear hire, two dives and refreshments
$189 for non-members.
Join club O2 members for a Surf Trip to Seal Rocks!
Spend two days learning how to surf or progressing your skills whilst discovering the untouched beauty of Seal Rocks. The location is just 3 hours from Sydney in the warm waters of the North Coast
Our host will be Waves Surf School who organise the bus from Sydney, lessons, accommodation, meals and even the Saturday night entertainment! We leave Friday evening and return Sunday evening.
